About

Hi, I'm Prosper. I teach Mathematics, Data Science and AI by showing you how they work in the real world, not just how to pass the paper.

By day I work in data operations at an educational institution, where I build reporting and analytics on live student and learning systems using SQL Server, Power BI and Power Query. I also administer Blackboard Ultra. That means I use the maths and data skills I teach every day. I'm also deepening my own expertise through graduate study in quantitative finance and financial data science, so what I teach stays current.

Because I work as an assessor and moderator, I know how marks are earned and lost. I know what examiners look for, how rubrics are applied, and where students lose marks they should have kept. I'll teach you the content, and I'll also show you how to present your answers so they score.

I can help you with:

School and university Mathematics: algebra, calculus, statistics, probability, linear algebra
Data science: Python, SQL, data cleaning, visualisation, Power BI, statistical thinking
AI and machine learning fundamentals, and using AI tools responsibly and effectively
Assignment, project and portfolio support, with feedback in the style of an assessor
Corporate and team upskilling in data literacy and AI

Who I work with: school learners, undergraduates, postgraduate students, working professionals changing careers, and teams that need practical data skills.

How I teach

1. We start where you are. In the first session we find the gaps, not just the topic you're stuck on. Most maths problems come from a missing foundation two steps back.

2. Concepts first, then practice. I explain the why in plain language, using examples from real data, finance and everyday life. Then you practise until it clicks.

3. Assessor-style feedback. I mark your work the way an examiner would. You'll see exactly where marks were gained or lost, and how to fix it.

4. Learn by building. For data science and AI, you'll work with real datasets and write real queries, dashboards and models. You finish with skills you can show an employer, not just notes.

5. Clear goals, visible progress. We set a target, whether that's a distinction, a pass or a job-ready skill, and we track progress against it each session.

6. Patient, judgment-free space. Ask the "silly" question. Every question helps me teach you better.

Ready to start? Book a trial session and tell me what you're working towards. I'll map out a plan for you.
